The long established dual Master Breeder Andes Holstein held their Dispersal Sale on farm at St Germains in Northern Victoria.
Vendors Charles and Carolyn Smith offered a wonderful herd that displayed tremendous capacity along with beautiful udders and met with spirited competition from throughout Northern Victoria and Gippsland along with several buyers from many parts of NSW.
Sale top of $10,000 was reached three times. Lot 5 Andes Goldfarm Criss (pictured), EX 90 with 441 kgs fat and bred from the famed Cretonne family sold at $10,000 to Jugiong Farms of Girgarre.
The incredible framed 7 year old cow Rockwood Park Potter Heidi, VG 89 bred down from Ronnybrook Sexation Heidi also sold at $10,000 to Munden Farms of Nilma North. Completing the $10,000 trio was Andes Dante Select, VG from an EX 92 dam sold to Royden Zanders of Ardmona.
Many of the crowd were loud in praise of the 6 year old Andes Wibur Rascal bred down from the famous Spring Farm Rosetta family, she sold at $9,500 to S & L Coombes of Attunga, NSW. This buyer also selected several top cows including Andes Creative Whynot 2, VG at $7,500.
L Prout of Cora Lea Holsteins, Kerang paid $7,500 for Andes Ammo Spot bred from an EX dam and $7,250 for Andes Fever Spot.
NSW buyers M & P Gray of Rollands Creek purchased Andes Classy Whynot at $7,500.
Local breeders R & J Easterbrook selected several top cows including Rockwood Park Dante Heidi 2 at $7,000.
