Are you genomically testing and looking for more ways to use your results? Join the first Holstein Australia Genomics in Action online national discussion group to explore all things genomics and add more value to your herd.
Facilitated by Dairy Australia industry specialist Rob Cooper and HA’s Service Extension Officer Simon Adams, this online event kicks off on Wednesday 6th April (7-8.30pm AEDT), covering all the potential gains of genomic testing and use of genomic results.
You can register here.
Holstein Australia CEO Rohan Butler said it’s a chance to discuss your practises with local and international experts and other farmers who are testing and using the results.
“We know some members have been early adopters of genomics and this is a good opportunity for them to talk about how they utilise their data and get the most from their investment in genomic testing,” Rohan said.
Share your testing experiences and join the discussion of how we can enhance the streamlined process and make it as efficient as possible. This online discussion group will be on-going and the discussion topics to be led by members into the future.
Meeting facilitators will discuss the role of testing and DNA analysis, along with parentage verification, pedigrees, rearing costs and herd performance.
Members attending this event can expect to learn how to best interpret genomic test results for best decision making practises, improving herd development and production; helping you achieve your breeding goals.
This is the start of a collection of events and activities planned for Holstein Australia members and sub-branches, offering a collaborative learning environment between fellow Holstein farmers.
If you want to attend simply scan the QR code in the next issue of the Journal or keep an eye on our Facebook page for further details.
