Wagyu bulls average $17,625 and heifers $15,929 in Premium sale

Wagyu-cowsIt was one of the best Premium Wagyu genetics sale for a long time with bidders and buyers from Tas, Vic, SA, NSW and Qld outlaying to $37,000 for bulls.

High marbling lots led the way with bulls meeting very keen interest from F1 breeders more so than stud Fullblood breeders due to many bulls being F11 carriers and active.

The top five MS bulls (+2.3 to +3.1) sold from $26,500 to $37,000. MS +1.6 – +2.0 bulls sold from $12,000 to $18,500.

Heifers all sold well to a Vic buyer. Semen from a bull bred in the UK, sired by Mayura L10, with a +3.9 MS ( second highest bull in Breedplan), but carrying CHS and IARS, met with great interest selling at $4225 per straw x 3.  Sale averages are as follows:

7 Heifers – sold to $20,000 to average $15,929
24 Bulls – sold to $37,000 to average $17,625
