Kerrisk grand champion judge at 2022 National Limousin Show

Limousin-youth-2022One hundred young beef cattle enthusiasts travelled to Canberra for the 2022 Keajura Park National Limousin Youth Show.

Saturday morning was the junior judging competition which saw competitors judge a steer, heifer and bull class. The top 5 from each age category were invited to speak on their placings.

Scott Myers was over judge and explained how to explain your thoughts on cattle so well.

Cattle classes commenced Saturday afternoon with the bred and owned class. It was great to see an outstanding showcase of Limousin cattle in the ring, a real credit to the breeders. Congratulations to the following exhibitors on their showing success in the cattle classes.

Saturday night we headed to Thoroughbred Park for a beautiful, bruised beef meal sponsored by Kilcoy Global Foods. Star young auctioneers Jack Whitty and Jacob Kerrisk lead a mighty auction interfaced by AuctionsPlus.

Young Limousin breeders Edward Maclure and Jono Nicholls stepped up for charity offering to shave their mullet and beard to raise money for the Rural Flying Doctor Service. Well done Jono and Ed! Following the auction, we presented our scholarship awards and then danced the night away!
