Angus Youth encouraged to apply for ALFA BEEFEX scholarships

Each scholarship recipient will be provided with $1500 to assist in covering costs associate with attending the event, (for example; flights, accommodation and the event registration fee). 

Angus Australia members aged 18-30 with an interest in the feedlot industry can now apply for the Angus Foundation ALFA BeefEX Scholarships.

The Angus Foundation will once again award two scholarships to give Angus Australia members the opportunity to participate in two days of thought-provoking talks at the 2022 BeefEX Conference, 18th-20th October hosted by ALFA (The Australian Lot Feeders’ Association), in Brisbane Qld.  

Though the key speakers are still yet to be announced for this biannual conference, the program will focus on consumer trends, markets, economics, production, finance, and leadership.  

BeefEX is well renowned for drawing together a wide variety of experts from the grain fed beef industry including but not limited to: nutritionists, veterinarians, backgrounders, regulators, service providers, transport operators and others involved in the grain fed industry and beef supply chain. 

The aim of this scholarship is to: 

  • Increase the recipient’s knowledge of the Australian Feedlotting industry and the beef industry as a whole  
  • Allow recipients the opportunity to network with industry professionals  
  • Develop the recipient’s personal skills 

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO ENTER
To be eligible for these scholarship’s, applicants must be between 18 and 30 years of age. You must also be a current Angus Youth or Angus Australia financial member. Membership forms are available on the Angus Australia website.

Registrations for the scholarships to attend BeefEX 2022 will close the 29th of August 2022.   

CONDITIONS OF RECEIVING THE SCHOLARSHIP:  

The scholarship cannot be deferred, it must be taken up in the year it is awarded. 

Within two weeks of returning, a full trip report must be given to the Angus Australia Foundation
