The long established, highly successful Elmar Holstein herd of Steve and Deanne Hore and Family staged another on farm sale to buyers throughout Australia and overseas.
Sale top of $20,000 was Elmar Chief Jessica 4697, an unjoined yearling directly from Australian Cow of the Year and IDW Grand Champion Elmar Goldwyn Jessica 11, EX 93, 4E, 9 SBC, she was purchased by Lightning Ridge & F & D Borba, USA Partnership. Her full ET sister 2 months younger, Elmar Chief Jessica 4773 sold at $14,000 to Ben Govett.
Second top lot at $16,000 was Elmar Chief Jessica 4818 a 10 month old daughter of Aftershock Jessica, VG, 8th gen SBC selling to Luccombe Holsteins of Finley, NSW. The same buyers also selected Elmar Arrow Jessica 4870 also from the Aftershock dam at $8,000.
Peter Fullerton of Daybreaker Holsteins paid equal third high of $14,000 for Elmar Mirand Serenade-Poll, VG 86 on 1st lact and $9,000 for Elmar Delta Jessica, VG 87 a 5 year old due to sexed Cadillac.
Jaguar Holsteins of Camperdown paid $12,000 for Elmar Chief Jessica 4812 another super smart calf from the Aftershock Jessica cow. The very long established Ingolston Stud paid $10,000 for Elmar Mirand Christina 4470-Poll, a correct uddered 2 year old.
The Randall Family of Koondrook selected Elmar Solomon Jessica 8, VG 88 at $9,000. Also at $9,000 was Elmar Jagger Jessica 4919, a 6 month old heifer from an EX 90 Crush daughter of Jessica 11, EX 93 selling to J Stewart of Pyramid Hill.
Other noted sales included Elmar Dylan Jessica 4982, this 3 month old calf is the first Dylan to sell in Australia, she was purchased by K, T & J Walters of Tasmania at $8,500. Elmar Arrow Jessica 4815 at $8,000 to A & C Coombes, Long Flat, NSW and Elmar Chief Jessica 4851 at $8,000 to Nundah Holsteins, NSW.
Selling Agents Dairy Livestock Services report buyers were from all parts of Vic & NSW along with Qld, SA, Tas & WA. There were also lots sold to USA & Pakistan
They report the following details – 11 Cows av $7,500, 20 Joined Heifers av $4,975 39 Unjoined Heifers av $6,154 2 Embryo Packages av $8,100.
Overall 72 lots grossed $438,200 and Av $6,086.
