All lots are top of the breed in marble score at Elite Wagyu Sale

Another record-breaking Elite Wagyu Sale looks like it is in our sights with a catalogue of 70 lots from 47 vendors.

Every lot accepted into the catalogue is extremely high quality, with animals required to be at the top of the Australian Wagyu Association (AWA) published Estimated Breeding Values (EBVs) for Wagyu traits to qualify.

This year’s catalogue features lots with Wagyu traits that are top of the breed in Marble Score (+3.9), Carcase Weight (+73) and Self-Replacing $Index ($355).

In its tenth year, AWA’s Elite Wagyu Sale sets the benchmark for prices paid for Wagyu genetics. In 2022, more than 400 bidders registered for the sale, a combination of in-person and online.

The sale posted the strongest-ever result for the beef seedstock industry. Buyers now recognise the genetic tools’ contribution to increasing the accuracy of animal performance figures.

All entries are proven animals, at least one generation back in their pedigrees.

The global live and online AWA Elite Wagyu Sale will take place on 20 April 2023 in Sydney. Exclusively presented by the Australian Wagyu Association, the sale is part of six days of Wagyu daytime and evening events to be held between April 19 and 24 in Sydney – WagyuEdge ’23.
