Southern NSW bio-stimulant and bio-fertiliser manufacturer New Edge Microbials has formed a partnership with Lallemand Plant Care, the global bio-control and bio-fertiliser business unit of Lallemand Inc.
Lallemand Inc. is a global leader in the development, production and marketing of yeasts, bacteria, fungi and related products, serving markets in baking, food ingredients, human and animal nutrition and health, crop protection/nutrition, winemaking, brewing, alcohol and biofuels. It has a presence in 50 countries, operating 48 production plants and employing over 5,000 people.
Lallemand Plant Care is a market leader in developing and marketing micro organism based products for bio-control, bio-stimulation and bio-fertilisation, with operations in North America, South America and Europe.
Under this exclusive partnership, NEM will introduce an extensive range of Lallemand products to the market, starting with field trials in 2024 and leading to a steady stream of new product launches from 2025 onwards.
The company anticipates this leading to significant market growth in the biological segment.
NEM remains majority Australian-owned, regionally based (Wodonga, Victoria) and remains committed to harnessing the best science for soil and plant health.
The collaboration with Lallemand will significantly expand NEM’s range of world-class biological inputs.
Lallemand, like NEM, is committed to sustainable agriculture. Both NEM and Lallemand Plant Care are solely focused on biological products for agriculture.
The partnership includes a sharing of intellectual property, know-how and ongoing innovation and new product development. It will also leverage the new factory and logistics facility in Wodonga which has expanded product development, formulation, fermentation, production, and logistics capacities.
