While numbers were scarce at the Hobart Royal Show, the quality of Sheree Lawrence’s and Thomas Febey’s Kanangra Limousin Junior Bull, and heifer were nothing to shy away from.
The only Limousin exhibits in the shed, Judge Garry Clarke had nothing but positive accolades for the pair. After being awarded the Grand Champion Ribbons in their own respective competitions the Junior Pair went one step further, as they took on the Interbreed.
Under the adjudication of Judges, Peter Collins, Garry Clarke, and Cade Ebdon, the sleek coated black limousin Junior pair went on to be crowned the Champion Junior pair of the show as well as taking out the Champion Sires Progeny pair, both by the Cottage Lake Big Star Bull.
From here the Junior Heifer Kanangra U got to be Dreaming, was awarded Junior Champion Heifer and Supreme Beef female for the 2024 Show, with her stable mate Kanangra Uppa Big Puppa being crowned the Junior Champion and Supreme Champion Beef Breed Bull.
In the end it was the young heifer that caught the judge’s attention to take her one step further as she was awarded Supreme Beef Exhibit of the 2024 Royal Hobart Show.
Kanangra remained dominate as their Limousin x Red Angus Led steer was also awarded Grand Champion Led Steer or Heifer.
