Free workshops to explain genetic tools for Wagyu breeders

The Australian Wagyu Association (AWA) is bringing its technical experts and member support teams directly to producers through a new series of Regional Member Engagement Workshops, running from July to September 2025 across five key locations.

These free workshops aim to provide members with hands-on learning opportunities in small-group settings, helping you better understand and utilise Helical, alongside AWA’s operational processes and available genetic tools and technologies.

Workshop locations and dates include:

  • Tamworth, NSW – 15 July
  • Toowoomba, QLD – 29 July
  • Ballarat*, VIC – 13 August
  • Emerald, QLD – 26 August
  • Wagga Wagga*, NSW – 9 September

The workshops will feature:

  • Live demonstrations of Helical and how to apply it effectively
  • Practical explanations of AWA registry and operational processes
  • An overview of genetic evaluation tools and how they support herd improvement
  • Interactive Q&A sessions and networking with fellow Wagyu producers
