The pen of 6 steers, bred and exhibited by John and Liz Manchee, Yamburgan Shorthorns, finished 2nd Overall in the 100 days Export Competition.
This years competition saw 770 head entered in the 19 year old event, considered by many to be one of the most industry relevant carcass competition in the country. Steers were processed at the JBS Australia, Dinmore plant, Brisbane.
The Manchee Ag pen, sired by Tobermory Sparta F149 and ABS Super sire, Yamburgan Zeus H140, had an average Daily Gain of 2.64 kg/day to finish with an average Carcass Weight of 386 kgs, 104 sq. cm. EMA and P8 fat of 18mm with Rib fat of 10mm.
The 6 steers average Dressing % was 56%.
The win takes Yamburgan Shorthorns tally to 55 Carcass and Feedlot awards in recent times, including Australia’s National Carcass Award at Beef2015.
