Lindon Holsteins of the Gordon Family of Undera dispersed their Spring calving heifers at Shepparton following the dispersal of their herd in late 2012 and early 2013.
Since then the Gordons have been selling heifers as they calve, however this year they sold them prior to calving. Repeat buyers were strong with 75 % being purchased by return clients.
Sale top of $4250 was paid for Lindon Tiger Lillie – Red – P (Imp. ET. Can) This Poll – Red heifer was backed by 3 gens of 5 % fat dams and was purchased by L Alwer of Invergordon. Full ET sister to this top lot Lindon Tiger Lill sold for next top price of $4100 to K & F Fitzsimmons of Merrigum, these buyers also selected Lindon Liquidgold View (Imp. ET.Can) backed by the renown Glen Drummond Splendor family at $3500.
NSW buyers, D Crapp and Family of Jaspers Brush selected another of the Red heifers in Lindon Tiger Lilly (Imp.ET.Can) at $3700.
The line of 29 Lindon heifers sold for a successful average of $2250
The very long established Ingolston herd of Don Gilmore and daughter Claire sold a quality line of freshly calved heifers to a top of $2100 for Ingolston ED Jenna selling to J & T Parton of Waaia and an average of $1600 for 21 lots.
Matt and Shanna Milne of Katunga sold a super line of Autumn calved young cows, mostly back in calf for next Autumn to very strong demand 3 lots sharing a $2100 top and an average of $1825
Top selling Jerseys included a pair of smart Spring calving heifers by T Bone and Layne from T & B Edwards at $2000 each. Local vendor Darby Baldwin sold a very correct fresh calved Holstein heifer by Asterix at $2200.
