Murray Goulburn has poured cold water on speculation over the future of a nutritional plant project at Koroit.
Chief executive officer David Mallinson said the co-perative had revisited all capital projects to ensure they are the most effective use of the capital raised.
“It is with this in mind, that we are considering other potential locations for the nutritionals plant to ensure that we have the most appropriate and cost effective location,” he said.
Mr Mallinson said no final decision had been made.
“It is important to note that Koroit remains a critical centre for our operations and this review will not impact our current activities or workforce,” he said.
“We are also very mindful of the significant role Murray Goulburn plays in the communities in which it operates and the contribution that we make to regional Victoria.”
