Workshop to maximise reproductive potential of herds

semen-tankReproActive, run under MLA’s More Beef from Pastures Program, is a specialised training workshop developed by Australia’s leading vets, cattle specialists and rural business experts, designed to help maximise the reproductive potential of herds.

The next ReproActive More Beef from Pastures event will be at Kookoomooroo Woolshed, Gundagai, NSW, on Wednesday, 26 October from 8:30am.

The workshop covers a range of topics including;

  • The significance and assessment of critical mating weights.
  • How to plan and achieve shorter joining periods.
  • The implications of condition scoring and the best corrective action to take.
  • Bull management and assessment for reproductive success.
  • The impacts of reproductive disease and preventative management strategies.
  • Yard demonstration of condition scoring and Veterinary Bull Breeding Soundness Examination.

Attendees at recent ReproActive workshops have been more than happy with the day’s content and practical hands-on, no fuss approach.

“The information learnt is essential for any serious beef breeding business. It was one of the best information days I’ve ever been to,” said Aaron Nicholls, ‘Fernyhill’, Muttama, NSW.

“The day provided great information about the timing of our vaccination programs and a basic, common sense approach to bull and cow health to maximise fertility,” said Don Guilfoyle, Birroon Station, Gunning, NSW.
