Charbray bull sells to top of $17,500 at Kandanga Valley

    Top price of $17500 for Charbray bull Lot 27 Kandanga Valley Kerid, at just 24 months of age purchased by the Callander family who also purchased top priced Charolais bull Lot 2 Kandanga Valley Knoble (polled) for $10000. Knoble, at 26 months, also weighed 900 kgs with an eye muscle of 137 cm2 and fat scans of 10 & 8.

    Second top price of $14 000 for Charbray bull Lot 33 Kandanga Valley Lorado went to first time buyers Fort Cooper Pty Ltd, Nebo who also took a polled Charolais sire home in Lot 12. Lorado at just 22 months weighed 860 kgs with an eye muscle of 141 cm2 and fat scans of 9 & 7 mms.

    Charolais averaged $4833 for 12 / 18 sold and Charbray averaged $6875 for 16 / 16 sold. Long time supporters, the Callander family, Sarina, purchased 8 head to average $7875, being 2 Charolais and 6 Charbray bulls. Another long time supporter Rob Denman, Etowri Farming purchased Lot 5 Kandanga Valley Krystoff (polled) for $9000, the second top priced Charolais.

    Other repeat buyers GB Pastoral, Nebo, purchased 3 Charolais bulls to average $4000, and Kerry & Julie Surawski, traveled from Boonah, to purchase 2 Charbray bulls to average $5750.
