Cattle numbers lifted and the quality improved over all categories at the SELX this week.
Yearlings were well supplied and feeders were active on most, but there was an increase in trade buys. Vealers were also better supplied.
Grown steers and heifers were back in numbers and there were around 250 head of mainly medium and heavy weight cows offered. The usual group of buyers were operating and restockers were not as keen. The market was firm to dearer.

The better end of the trade cattle lifted 2c but the average eased as buyers purchased more crossbred cattle. Trade steers sold from 296c to 349c and heifers to 336.2c/kg.
