Restocking Vealer steers lifted up to 20c depending on weight reaching 432c and heifers topped at 385c/kg at the SELX Yass.
Numbers lifted and the quality still remains only fair to good. Most of the cattle lacked cover and yield with the young cattle suited to feeder and restocking orders.
Cow numbers improved making up nearly half of the yarding. There were more staff buyers operating and a few more restocking order along with most of the usual buyers. The market was dearer.
Restocking Vealer steers lifted up to 20c depending on weight reaching 432c and heifers topped at 385c/kg. Feeder steers lifted 9c ranging from 332c to 350c and heifers to feed jumped 10c to 15c with most selling between 312c to 340c with a line of European heifers reaching 385c/kg. Trade cattle were in very short supply and were firm to 2c dearer receiving 300c to 340c/kg for a plainer run.
Grown steers gained 4c selling from 280c to 326c and the heavy heifers gained 10c to range from 255c to 270c/kg. Cows improved 10c to 15c on average with the medium weight 2 scores ranging from 220c to 238c and the heavy 3 and 4 scores 225c to 260c to average 240c/kg. Well covered medium weight young cows topped the cow market at 268.2c/kg.
