Cattle numbers last week on AuctionsPlus totaled 11,482 head which was an increase of 1,769 head from the previous week.
The clearance rate for commercial stock this week was 70%.
Cow and calf numbers were limited this week, but high prices were still seen across the Eastern States.
The top cow and calf unit was for a line of 2.5-8.5-year-old Angus cows from Nemingha, NSW which sold for $3,250.
The small line of twenty cows are PTIC to Angus bulls. The cows also have twenty 4-8-month-old Te Mania, Alumy Creek and Woonooka calves at foot, averaging 230kg. Another stand out line of cows and calves from Branxholme, VIC made an impressive $2,640. These 5-6-year-old Angus cows are unjoined and ready to join to the bull of choice. The girls also have Ballangeich calves at foot, averaging 72kg.
Cow numbers were strong with proven breeders dominating these numbers. The top line of cows this week hailed from Tambar Springs, NSW. The 3-4-year-old Poll Hereford/Angus and Angus cows made $2,180 and are PTIC back to Angus bulls. Another line of 6-8-year-old Shorthorn cows made an impressive $2,160. These cows are also PTIC back to Angus bulls.
Young cattle numbers dominated this week’s listings with solid prices seen across the board. A line of unweaned Angus steers from Black Springs, NSW made 498c/kg or $880. These steers weigh 176.8kg and are 7-8 months in age.

Heifer numbers were quite even across all weight categories this week. A stand out line of 9-10-month-old heifers weighing 224.8kg live made 529c/kg or $1,190. These weaned Te Mania blood heifers are located in Come By Chance, NSW.
Another stand out line of Speckle Park/Angus mixed sex weaners from Ebor, NSW made 505c/kg or $1,430. These weaners are 6-9 months in age and weigh 283.1kg live.

The Tasmanian Cattle Sale had a smaller listing this week with a total of 46 head offered over two lots. Both lots of Angus cows sold with the top price making $1,600. These 4.5-5.5-year-old Angus cows are PTIC to Cluden Newry bulls, located in Cressy, TAS.
