Prices ranged from $149 to $178, averaging 595c/kg cwt for heavy lambs and extra heavy lambs topped at $200/head at SELX Yass.
Lamb numbers were steady and quality similar. There were plenty of store lambs and re-stockers were buying heavier lambs.
A small run of well-finished medium and heavy trade lambs and an improved offering of heavy export lambs were penned to the usual buyers.
There only was a small run of Merino lambs offered.
All the usual buyers were operating in a firm to slightly dearer market. Restocking lambs were dearer on average but more weight was purchased.
Restocking lambs ranged from $86 to $140/head. Light trade weights sold from $103 to $129/head. The medium and heavy trades ranged from $123 to $148/head, averaging 615c to 630c/kg cwt. Heavy lambs were firm to $7/head stronger, mostly on the improved quality of the heavier lambs. Prices ranged from $149 to $178, averaging 595c/kg cwt and extra heavy lambs topped at $200/head.
Mutton numbers eased and quality was mixed. Prices were fully firm. Medium weight ewes sold between $105 and $148/head. Heavy crossbred ewes reached $194 and heavy Merino wethers sold to $168/head. Most averaged around 500c to 520c/kg cwt.
