This was the first time these quality females have been on offer to the open market, and they definitely caught the bidders’s attention.
These particular HBR females are all free from any genetic defects and they will certainly make a positive impact on the purchasers herd.
Cattle stayed steady this week with a total consignment of 12,000 head.

PTIC female numbers this week remained strong, with PTIC heifers averaging $1976 to a top price of $2,500 for a line of EU Speriby North Angus heifers from Tenterfield, NSW.
These heifers are 19 to 21 months old and PTIC to Angus bulls. Young PTIC Cows averaged $1,548 with a top price of $2,110. This top price went to a line of rising 3 year old Angus cows from Carinda, NSW, PTIC to Angus bulls. PTIC proven breeders averaged $1,632 with a top price of $2,305. This top price went to a line of 3 to 3.5 year old, Angus Cows from Echunga, SA, PTIC to Angus and Simmental bulls. PTIC mixed aged lines averaged $1,300, and older PTIC cows averaged $1,370 with a top price of $1,490.
Cow and calf numbers were steady this week. Top price from Queensland went to a line of Santa cross cows, 2 to 10 years old from Brymaroo, which sold for $2,065 with 4 to 8 month old Droughtmaster calves at foot, averaging 248kg.
Top price from New South Wales went to a line of rising 3 year old Speriby North blood Angus cows from Deepwater which sold for $2,960 with 5 to 12 week old Angus calves at foot, averaging 112kg. Top price from Victoria went to a line of 2 to 3 year old Angus cows from Hamilton which sold for $2,610, with 2 to 8 week old Angus calves at foot, averaging 60kg. Top price from South Australia went to a line of 4 to 10 year old Murray Grey cows from Echunga which sold for $2,600, with 3 to 4 month old calves at foot, averaging 141kg.
From Tasmania this week 596 head were offered over 23 lots. Stand out lines include a line of 17 to 18 month old, Angus heifers from Currie, PTIC to Angus bulls which sold for $1.650. And from the same vendor, a line of yearling Angus steers, 426kg, sold for 328c/kg or $1,400.
