Medium Merino types star of the show this week

Moses & Son have recently noticed an increase in the number of FNF clips (VM under 1%) being offered into the market.

The AWEX EMI closed at 1508c, up 28c at auction sales in Australia this week.

The 28,585 bale offering was met with new vigour after the market suffered from dwindling interest over the past few weeks.

The key areas of new demand were experienced in most merino MPG’s however it was the medium merino types that were the star of the show with the 20-22 MPG’s posting 55-65c increases for the week.

The 18-19.5 MPG’s were up 35-50c with the 16-17.5 posting 15-20c.

The positive sentiment spilled over into the skirtings with the low VM and best length and style skirting types commanding bullish bidding to the last lot.

Crossbreds extended their run of positive results with a small offering of these types pushing the category along.

Cardings had a mixed week with Sydney and Fremantle posting small rises whilst Melbourne posted a small fall in the Merino Carding indicator.

It is expected that next week’s offering of 24,376 bales will be greeted with similar buyer vigour in Sydney and Melbourne with Fremantle taking a one week recess from sales.

Moses & Son have recently noticed an increase in the number of FNF clips (VM under 1%) being offered into the market.

These clips are in keen demand as the national offering of FNF wools has been at record lows over recent months.
