Craig Taylor, of MK Cattle Limousins, took out champion grassfed heifer in the Callide Dawson Beef Carcase Competition in Biloela QLD.
This is a high-profile carcase competition which draws some serious entries from all over QLD.
This year’s competition saw a 17-month-old heifer from MK Cattle Limousins take out 1st place in her class (Class 3 – Single Trade Steer or Heifer) with a total score of 150.02, an EMA of 96 and fat of 11/9mm.
Further to the win in her class, the heifer then went on to take out the Champion Grass-fed Heifer Carcase.
Sired by Mandayen Eveready G2033, it is a win not only for MK Cattle Limousins and Mandayen Limousins, but also for every Limousin stud member as this type of prestigious event is closely followed by a large proportion of commercial cattle men and women and helps bring the breed to the fore.
