PTIC cows averaged $1,509 to a top of $1,800 on AuctionsPlus last week.
This went to a line of 50 PTIC hereford cows to a Bucca Charolais pure Palgrove blood bull from Armidale, NSW aged 4 – 8 years old.
Total cattle listings this week increased by 121 head to 8,940, with a 53% national clearance rate holding fast from the previous week.
NSW offered 3,743 head with a clearance rate of 51%, while QLD offered 2,570 head with a clearance rate of 47%. Of note, VIC offered 878 head with a clearance rate of 82%.
Special mention goes to Cobungra Station of Omeo, VIC with their annual sale of spring drop steers. In total, 776 steers were offered across 11 lots and sold extremely well.
Landmark agent Daniel Fischer said “it was an excellent result, with all steers going to repeat buyers. Cobungra will offer 500 Weaner Heifers next week”.
Joined females were down again this week from 1,521 to 961 head with clearance rates slipping to 24%. Demand for joined heifers was soft, seeing only proven breeders sell.
Cows and calves saw a larger offering this week of 498 units. With an average of $2,070 and a top of $2,520 for 2 lots of 20, 6 – 7 year old Hereford Shorthorn cross cows from Tarrawingee, VIC.
