Cows and calves ranged from $1470 to $2820 with an average of $2188 on AuctonsPlus.
The top price lot was part of a herd dispersal for “Heathfield Farming”, from Spence, SA.
The vendor offered a 5 mobs of Nampara blood Angus cows and calves, with the top price lot being 3.5 year old, 528kg station mated cows, Angus calves at foot. Whilst the vendor also had a line of 4 year old Angus cows with Angus calves at foot which sold for $2810
Commercial cattle numbers poked their head up this week, with 7,785 head offered, 700 more than last week.
However the prolonged dry across the east of Australia continued to tighten its grip as the national online clearance fell by 4% to 46% total.
With some vendors still chasing last week’s prices, there was a plethora of buyers logging into the sale with 420 unique users heading online to see what’s what.
Preg tested cows and heifers averaged $1166 and had a range of $990 to a top of $1530 for a line of 24 to 28 month old Hereford heifers from Mitta Mitta, VIC which were PTIC to a Rennylea Angus bull.
Whilst a line of Wattletop and Bald Blair blood heifers from Gunnedah, NSW which were PTIC to Wattletop and Bald Blair blood bulls, this mob sold for $1,290.
