Light restocking steers sold to 344c and backgrounding steers to a feedlot reached 346.2c/kg while trade vealers ranged between 285c and 290c/kg at SELX on November 30.
Numbers eased and the quality was not as good as previous weeks. Yearlings were well supplied with most going to feed or restocking orders.
Trade cattle were limited as were grown steers and heifers. Around 150 cows were offered to a smaller the usual buying group. With the odd exception the market was cheaper.
Light restocking steers sold to 344c and backgrounding steers to a feedlot reached 346.2c/kg. Trade vealers ranged between 285c and 290c/kg.
Medium feeders steers sold to a higher top of 329c/kg but most sold to a cheaper trend. Prices ranged from 265c to 305c/kg.
Heavy feeder steers also sold to softer trend ranging from 254c to 295c/kg with breed a major effect on the average.
Medium weight heifers to feed lost 25c with an order not operating to average 260c/kg. Trade cattle sold between 265c and 290c/kg.
Grown steers and bullocks lost 10c to 20c ranging from 240c to 262c/kg. Most of the grown heifers lost 5c to 7c averaging between 235c and 265c/kg.
Most of the cows were 10c cheaper with the 2 scores 180c to 219c/kg. Heavy 3 and 4 scores made from 205c to 227c to average 214c/kg.
