Heavy feeder steers averaged 10c dearer selling from 255c to 308.6c and breed effected the average on the medium weights, which ranged from 245c to 285c/kg, at SELX this week.
Numbers dropped and the quality was mostly plain with only the odd exception. Young cattle were well supplied with feeders operating on most.
Prime grown steers were limited with most lacking finish and going to feed. Around 280 cows were also penned.
Weaner steers to restock held firm, ranging from 230c to 260c/kg. Heifers sold mostly from 200c to 245c/kg.
Medium weight feeder heifers were 4c cheaper 218c to 260c/kg. Heavy trade cattle were firm 265c to 270c/kg.
Grown steers to feed were 12c easier, making from 205c to 288c/kg. Prime steers reached 250c/kg. The very light and plain cows to restockers were dearer, selling from 70c to 105c/kg.
Medium weight 2 score cows were 10c to 14c dearer with a few more heavy weights penned and selling from 120c to 170c/kg.
The leaner heavy cows were in demand and lifted 15c, to range from 177c to 192c, while the 4 score cows were firm and averaged 183c/kg.
