These Angus heifers and calves from Cootamundra, NSW, sold for $1710.

PTIC and joined females rose by 341 head from last week’s numbers, with 893 head on offer on AuctionsPlus.

There was a significant variation in the prices returned for breeders, selling from $385 to a high of $1,195 to average $947.

The top price was returned by a large line, offered by ‘TJ Henwood’ which consisted of 198 Angus cows.

From Hay, NSW, these cows are 6 years old, weigh 600kgs and are PTIC to Kenny’s Creek and Pine Creek Angus bulls.

Station mated Charolais cows and calves made a 700km journey from Forbes to Glen Innes. This small line of 9 cows are 18-30 months old, weigh 463kgs and have been joined to a Reiland Angus bull.

The 10 Charolais calves at foot are 1-5 months and average 86kgs.

‘Doctors Creek Speckle Park’ Bingara, NSW offered a line of 19 PTIC Angus cows which returned $610. These cows weigh 470kgs, are 6-8 years old and have been joined to Speckle Park bulls.

Cow and calf numbers doubled from last week’s small offering to total 1,013 head. Prices ranged from $800 to $1,710 with an average price of $1,191.

From Cootamundra, NSW a line of heifers, with their first calves at foot returned the top price. These heifers weigh 447kgs and are 25-26 months old.

These 43 Angus heifers & calves are bred from Lawsons and Bongongo bloodlines. The 43 calves are 6-12 weeks and weigh on average 80kgs.

Another highlight saw 9 Angus cows & calves return $1,670. These cows and calves are set to make the journey from Hansonville, VIC across the pond to Hagley, Tasmania.

Weighing 470kgs, the cows are 3-5 years old and haven’t been re-joined. While from Loomberah, NSW a line of 14 Limousin cows and calves returned $825.

These cows are 3-6 years and weigh 420kgs, while the calves at foot are 2-8 weeks and have an average weight of 48kgs. The cows and calves are headed on an 820km journey to Wodonga, VIC.

This week saw a high level of feedlotter action on the box, with feeder and yearling steers the focus of bidding activity.

A highlight saw a NSW feedlotter secure a line of 10 Brangus steers for 277c live or $1,200/hd. These steers from Cassilis, NSW are 18-22 months and weigh 433kgs.

While a line of 107 Angus steers from Quirindi, NSW returned 293c live or $850. These steers are 11-12 months old and weigh 290kgs.

From Coolah, NSW a line of 113 Angus heifers returned 233c live or $600. These heifers are 11-12 months, weigh 260kgs and are destined for the feedlot market.
