A large crowd of Holstein enthusiasts were at Shepparton for the Combined Master Breeders Dispersal Sale of Spring calving heifers of the Pooley Bridge and Amelia Park herds.
Sale top of $5500 was paid for the tall, stylish Pooley Bridge Sid Bonnie 12, bred from a VG 88 Goldwyn daughter of 2 time IDW Grand Champion Jed Bonnie 94, EX, she was purchased by Adam Wright of Garfield.
Next top of $5400 was paid by a partnership of Avonlea and Maxmount Holsteins for the very correct Pooley Bridge Shottle Kay 201, a daughter of an EX 91 Lauthority dam, she sold at $5400.
Many breeders were loud in praise of the rising 2 year old Pooley Bridge Atwood Jade 2 from a VG 88 dam with 754 kgs milk solids she sold to R & J Easterbrook & Sons of Tatura at $5100.
Lot 1 Pooley Bridge G Day Omaggie 10 was a heifer that had lots of admirers, her 7 direct dams av 11,017 litres, she sold at $5000 to J & C Gardiner of Cardinia.
Top selling bull price was shared by 2 ET brothers,Pooley Bridge Salamand (ET) and Salmon (ET) both from an EX 93 dam and sired by Solomon and Mogul, they were both purchased by C Kelliher of Neerim at $4250 each.
Other noted sales included Pooley Bridge Sid Velvene 52 at $4000 to J & B Fisher of Girgarre and Pooley Bridge Atwood Bonnie13 at $3900 to Krishlaye Holsteins of Leongatha.
Top Selling Amelia Park lot at $3000 was Armani Blackrose bred down from the family of leading sire Ladino, she sold to S & M Portwine of Bamawn and Amelia Park Atley Kay bred from the famed Felicity family at $2900 to G & M McPhee of Finley.
