NSW and Southern processors were again active looking to fill orders from the online sales last week, bidding on lines ranging from Western Queensland, down to the Riverina, NSW.
Purchases include; a line of 650, 59kg export wethers from Longreach, QLD returned 580c dw; a line of 72kg wethers from Wyandra, QLD returned 540c dw; a mob of 660 54kgs wethers from Stamford, QLD returned 599c dw. All prices include skin value.
Store lamb numbers were down slightly, with an offering of 14,861 head on the box this week, down 2,458. Buyer outlook was still positive returning 94% clearance.
Merino ewe lambs dropped $6, averaging $179 this week, selling from $121 to $276.
The top priced line was a mob of 11-12 month old 42kg Karmora/Netley Park & Barton Hill blood NSM ewes from Tintinara, SA. While a line of Gunnegalderie blood 49kg July/August drop future breeder ewes from Wellington, NSW sold for $252. Merino ewe hoggets sold firm on last week, selling from $130 to $273, averaging $194.
Highlights include; 43kg hoggets from Hay, NSW returned the top price; 52kg hoggets from Marrabel, SA returned $266; while 46kg hoggets from Coleambally, NSW returned $209.
Young Merino Breeders (2-4 years) sold $7 above average, making between $145 and $278. The top price was achieved by a line of 52kg Leachim and Roseville park blood ewes with Gerradale blood Border Leicester lambs at foot, these 3- 8 week old lambs weigh an average 18kgs.
Buyer interest this week was strong for scanned in lamb Merino ewes that averaged $193 and sold from $133 to a top of $227, up $22 on last week and achieved a 95% clearance.
Highlights include: 4-5 year old SIL ewes from Coonamble, NSW which returned the top price; a line of rising 3 year old SIL ewes from Corowa, NSW returned $224; while a mob of 5 year old SIL ewes at Nyngan, NSW found a buyer in Keith, SA for $217.
Prices for Merino wethers and wether lambs remained steady. Wether lambs sold from $70 to $148 to average $120, while grown wethers sold from $95 to $160, averaging $128.
Woolgrower wethers were popular this week and highlights include; 1-4 year old woolgrower wethers weighing 51kgs with a 3” skin from Quilpie, QLD returned $137; while one vendor from Nullamanna, NSW offered 1,294 head of wool grower wethers across 3 drafts, averaging 37kgs and returned an average of $124 and will travel to Wycheproof, VIC & Inverell, NSW.
First cross ewe lambs sold from $169 to $266 to average $214, down $22 on last week. The top price was returned by a line of 49kg scanned empty ewe lambs from Merriwagga, NSW; other highlights include 47kg scanned empty ewe lambs that returned $235, these 500 head were sold across two lines offered as a run out the gate and will travel to Lavington and Orange, NSW.
While a line of 31kg future breeder ewe lambs from Coonamble, NSW returned $241.
