Joined cows ease back $51 to average $1884

Cows-NathaliaPTIC cows saw a further price adjustment this week, $51 back at $1,884 average with prices ranging from $1,130 to $2,930 on AuctionsPlus.

The top price went to a line of Charolais cows offered by A/c ‘SM & DE Cusack from Nathalia, VIC.

The 3-5-year-old cows (pictured) weigh 682kgs and will be heading to Camperdown, VIC. Hailing from Yass, NSW made $2,930.

Another highlight includes 5 lines of PTIC Angus cows offered by A/c ‘Alloura Angus Stud’ which sold between $2,510 and $2,770. The cows weighed between 732kgs and 798kgs, are PTIC to registered Angus bulls and will be heading to Casino, NSW.

PTIC heifers sold $150 easier this week to average $1,757 with prices selling between $1,410 and $2,400. From Narromine, NSW. Listed from A/c ‘Waterloo Partners’ achieved the top price with a line of Shorthorn/ Angus heifers weighing 502kgs.

The Yamburgan and Nairn Park blood heifers will head to Scone, NSW.  Another highlight offered by A/c ‘Skye Brigs’ from Trafalgar, VIC consisted of Angus heifers weighing 541kgs which are sired by Rennylea Angus and Landfall Angus bulls sold for $2,300 and will be journeying to Korumburra, VIC.

Further price corrections were seen amongst a reduced offering of cows with calves at foot this week with prices ranging between $1,210 and $2,800 to average $1,982, back $213. From Braidwood, NSW A/c ‘E & M Lyons’ achieved the top price with a line of Angus/Hereford cows weighing 463kgs with CAF aged 3-7 weeks weighing 133kgs.

The calves are by a Rennylea Angus bull and will be heading to Meadow Flat in Central West NSW.

There was a decreased offering of steers this week, with listings totaling 6,656 head, a decrease of 373 head which achieved a 69% clearance rate. Light steers under 200kgs sold from 431c to 592c to average 524c, down 34c.

From Running Stream, NSW A/c ‘Troy I Grimshaw’ attained the top price with a line of 5-7-month-old Angus weaned steers weighing 182kgs which will travel to Mudgee, NSW.

Steers weighing 200-280kgs sold from 370c to 577c to average 468c, selling 30c dearer than last week.

The top price went to a line of 7-10-month-old Angus steers weighing 227kgs from Bendemeer, NSW offered by A/c ‘K & A Brett’. Another highlight includes a line of 8-10-month-old weaned Angus steers from Tarwin Lower, VIC.

The Te Mania Angus blood steers offered by A/c- ‘A.G. Landy’ weigh 267kgs and sold for 506c.

Steers weighing 280-330kgs held firm this week, selling from 341c to 480c to average 427c. From Moama on the NSW/VIC border by A/c ‘CM Pastoral Company’ attained the top price with a line of 9-10-month-old Charolais and Angus /Santa Steers weighing 325kgs.

Steers weighing 330-400kgs sold from 226c to 456c to average 422c. The top price was attained by A/c ‘Kilkenny Pastoral’ from Hawkesdale, VIC which offered a line of 10-11-month-old Angus weaned steers weighing 388kgs.

Another highlight includes a line of Angus/Hereford steers weighing 341kgs offered by A/c ‘Kalrose Pty Ltd’ which returned 425c and are heading interstate to Southern QLD.

Heavy steers weighing over 400kgs sold from 386c to 417c to average 18c dearer at 399c. The top price went to a line of 18-20-month-old Speckle Park yearling steers offered by A/c ‘Uppatrak’, weighing 407kgs, hailing from Killawarra, VIC.

Heifer numbers saw a further decrease this week to see a total of 6,441 head offered, 224 head less than last week.

Light heifers sold from 431c to 573c to average 464c, easing 20c. A/c ‘Goldelk Pty Ltd’ from Booyal, QLD attained the top price with a line of first cross Speckle Park heifers. The heifers are 6 months old, weighing 154kgs and are sired by Wattle Grove Speckle park bulls.

Heifers weighing 200-280kgs sold from 370c to 575c to average 69c dearer at 458c. A line of 8-9-month-old Angus weaned heifers weighing 248kgs by A/c ‘RDM’ from Bega, NSW returned the top price and will be journeying to Coonamble, NSW.

Heifers weighing between 280-330kgs sold from 341c to 464c to average 10c dearer at 409c.

The top line was offered by A/c ‘RT & JM Jacob’ with 10-11-month-old NSM Angus heifers weighing 317kgs. Hailing from Walla Walla, NSW the heifers are of Rossrich bloodlines and are bound for Tamworth, NSW.

Feeder heifers weighing 330-400kgs remained firm this week, with prices ranging from 226c to 472c to average 3c dearer at 383c.

A line of 9-10 month old Charolais weaner heifers topped the category, they were offered by A/c ‘SM & DE Cusack’. From Yalcha, VIC the heifers weigh 366kgs and are heading to Rochester in Northern VIC.

Heading across the Bass Strait to Tasmania, this week an increased yarding totaling 365 head achieved an 87% clearance rate in the Tasmanian sale. Weaned heifers sold between $740 and $1,300 to average $1,087.

The top line hailed from Campbell Town, Northern Tasmania and consisted of 9-11-month-old Hicks Red Composite heifers weighing 342kgs offered by A/c ‘Greenhill Trading’. Weaned steers sold from $850 to $1,340 to average $1,130.

The top price went to a line of 10-11-month-old Angus steers offered by A/c ‘Churchill Pastoral Company’ from Oldina in North West Tasmania which weigh 290kgs.

The Western Australia cattle sale saw a 100% clearance across the 88 head offered this week.

Three lines of slaughter cows offered sold between 251c to 304c to average 272c. From Pemberton in South West WA, the top line of cows was offered by A/c ‘Collins Bros Grazing & G & B Bendotti’ and weighed 670kgs.
