The top price was achieved by A/c ‘J B & E Wesley’ from Hillston NSW, with a line of 4-year-old PTIC cows with 7-8-month-old calves at foot (pictured).
The Speckle Park cows weighed 650kgs, with 300kg CAF sired by Speckle Park bulls.
PTIC cows achieved 82% clearance, selling from $1,380 to $2,780/head, averaging $2,176/head. ‘RK & BJ Danson’ from Mendooran NSW, secured the top price with their line of 3-4-year-old Charolais and Red Angus cows weighing 592kg, PTIC to Red Angus bulls.
PTIC heifers achieved 83% clearance, selling from $1,900 to $3,380/head – averaging $2,490/head. A line of 22-23-month-old Angus heifers weighing 569kg achieved the top price.
These heifers were PTIC to registered Angus bulls and were offered by A/c ‘Glenruben Angus’ from Woomargama, NSW.
There were 2,184 heifers on offer this week, achieving a 77% clearance rate for the category.
Light heifers weighing under 200kgs sold from 485c to 634c, averaging 576c/kg. The top price went to a line of 7-10-month-old Angus and Angus cross heifers weighing 188kg, offered by A/c ‘CC & TS Gibson’ from Logans Crossing, NSW.
Heifers weighing 200-280kgs sold from 461c to 731c, averaging 564c/kg – up 6c on last week. A/c ‘PJ Lowien Pty Ltd’ from Bellata NSW, secured the top price with their line of 246kg, 10-12-month-old Angus heifers with Bald Blair, Wattletop and Eastern Plain bloodlines.
Heifers weighing 280-330kgs sold from 457c to 654c, averaging 515c/kg. The top price went to a line of mixed-age Wagyu heifers weighing 329kg, offered by A/c ‘MS & SP McCosker’ from Emerald, QLD.
Feeder heifers weighing 330-400kgs sold from 418c to 511c, averaging 468c/kg. The top price went to a line of 16-17-month-old Angus heifers weighing 359kg offered by A/c ‘Billabong Beef Co’ from Bungowannah NSW, with Ardrossan, Twynam and Injemira blood.
Heavy heifers weighing over 400kgs sold from 396c to 474c, averaging 444c/kg. The top price went to a line of 17-18-month-old Angus steers weighing 410kgs from Inverell NSW, offered by A/c ‘Paraway Pastoral Co – Burmah’.
