To support young people in the beef industry with a particular interest in Australian live export, the Angus Foundation will once again be supplying two scholarships to attend the upcoming industry leading LIVEXchange Conference.
The two scholarships are presented to give Angus Australia members the opportunity to participate in the LiveCorp and Australian Livestock Exporters Council (ALEC) LIVEXchange Conference, which will take place in Darwin, NT, on the 9th – 10th of November 2022.
The LIVEXchange Conference is dedicated to sharing information and insight into the livestock export trade, breaking down knowledge barriers, being open about industry challenges and demonstrating industry’s commitment and ongoing effort to improve animal welfare in supply chains.
The 2022 LIVEXchange Conference will have a theme of ‘From here to there together: strengthening our foundations and creating connections’.
Angus Australia Extension Manager Jake Phillips encourages Angus Australia members aged between 18 and 30 with a commitment to the Australian beef industry and the Angus breed to apply.
“The LIVEXchange scholarships are offered in order to assist young people who are interested in the Australian live export industry by providing them with $1,500 to assist in covering costs associate with attending the event,” said Mr Phillips.
“The aim of this scholarship is to increase the recipient’s knowledge of the live export industry and the beef industry as a whole, develop their personal skills and give them the opportunity to network with industry professionals.”
LiveCorp CEO Wayne Collier says the conference is an ideal opportunity to network, as well as learn more about the industry.
“Delegates represent all parts of the supply chain, from producers to importers and in-market staff, and scholarship winners will have plenty of time to catch up with people during breaks and social events.
“Speakers and panel sessions will cover a range of topics, including biosecurity and disease preparedness, leadership, global markets, agtech and sustainability.”
Successful applicants will be selected from completing an application that shows a demonstrated commitment to the beef industry and the Angus breed, a demonstrated potential to benefit from attending the conference, a demonstrated interest and strong desire to develop their personal skills and network with industry professionals and a willingness to learn more.
The LIVEXchange Conference scholarship applications close September 12, 2022. Applications can be completed on the Angus Australia website.
