Hitting the scales at a whopping 1,152kg, Wattle Grove Hall of Fame S723, has been officially identified as the heaviest bull on ground at Beef2024, following completion of weighing ahead of the Nutrien Ag Solutions Stud Cattle Championship this week.
At almost three years old, Wattle Grove Hall of Fame was bred by Wattle Grove Speckle Park which made the trek to Rockhampton from Oberon in New South Wales.
Stud owner, Dale Humphries said while his family had been planning for the past three years to make sure they exhibited a bull to Beef2024, they were happy and surprised he was the heaviest.
“We are continuously working to breed cattle that suit Queensland conditions and have been coming to Beef2024 since 2012 so it’s a great achievement,” Dale said.
The long time Speckle Park breeders said he had arrived in Rockhampton last week and were looking forward to the week ahead.
“Because we are based down south, we have been having a great time catching up with friends and family, and some of our clients,” he said.
“The whole event is just fantastic. We love coming up here.”
Wattle Grove Hall of Fame will compete in the Speckle Park bull 30 months and under 36 months class on Tuesday.
