Demand for merino ewe lambs was strong this week with the category returning a 100% clearance, and selling from $90 to $370, averaging $196, up $60 on last week.
A decrease in the supply of restocker weight lambs through saleyards has started to impact prices, with the national restocker indicator above trade weights since the beginning of October.
The lamb market is beginning to see the impacts of new season lambs entering the market in greater numbers, with Tuesday's Eastern States Trade Lamb Indicator (ESTLI) decreasing 25¢ on the week prior.
