A combination of global and localised factors is creating a “very tight” global beef cattle market – with strong demand and record high prices in many regions throughout the world.
The 2021 Australian Wagyu Association’s Elite Wagyu Sale held on April 28 continued to highlight the global strength of the Association’s Wagyu BREEDPLAN estimated breeding values (EBVs) and genomic analysis to an ever-increasing domestic and international Wagyu sector market.
The Australian Wagyu Association 2021-2031 Progeny Test Program will join approximately 40 Fullblood Wagyu sires from across to the globe, to more than 2,000 Australian-based Wagyu females.

For the young steers, the largest category 280-330kg steers declined $22 on the previous week, averaging $1,625/head – with a 75% clearance rate on AuctionsPlus.
The Angus judging at Beef Australia was an excellent occasion, with approximately 60 entries coming together with Judge Matt McCamley officiating around the ring.
